Happy Planet Wipes

These multi award winning wipes are 100% biodegradable, 100% home compostable and 100% plastic-free. They are made from FSC certified wood pulp and dispersible cellulose plant fibers. They are multipurpose, suitable from birth and contain 99.9% purified water, Apple Fruit Extract (skin conditioner) and just 3 food grade / mild preservatives to ensure that the wipes remain uncontaminated.

The wipes are also alcohol-free, fragrance-free, cruelty-free, completely eco-friendly and are the purest sustainable wipes on the market. Having gone through a very rigorous toxicological and dermatological review by Allergy UK, they are now endorsed by them as an ‘Allergy Friendly Product’. A proportion of profits from the wipes are donated to charities involved in removing plastic pollution from our oceans.

The wipes are winners of the 2019 Natural & Organic Europe Awards – Best New Mother & Baby Product, and the 2019 Nursery World Silver Award for Best Health & Wellbeing Product.Biodegradable, plastic-free wet wipes.

Disposal of Wipes

As our wipes are very unique, they offer different disposal options compared to normal ‘plastic’ wipes. As they are plastic-free and can biodegrade in 28 days, they can be safely put in the home compost bin or even in the food bin, where they will readily biodegrade. If they are put in a normal rubbish bin, which will eventually end up in landfill or incinerated, they will not be in an environment where they can naturally biodegrade, however, we appreciate that this is sometimes the only available option. Unless wipes are truly flushable (by water authority standards) and used to clean up pee or poo, the advice is not to flush them down the loo as they can block drains and sewers and often end up being washed into the oceans. Please note that ‘Biodegradable’ does not mean ‘Flushable’ they are very different. Biodegradable means it breaks down in the right conditions in the presence of certain microorganisms, whereas flushable means that it breaks down and disperses readily and quickly in water. A further added advantage of our wipes is that as they return to paper when dry, they can actually also be put in the recycling bin – but probably not advised if they are covered in poo!!!

Wipe Packs
Our wipes packs are made from recyclable PE+PET, but they are not biodegradable at present. The packs must be robust enough to ensure that the wipes retain their moisture for the full 2 year shelf life, and at present we are not aware of any wipes manufacturer who have found a pack that is biodegradable or plastic free.
